Global Bank Expands March Networks Solution to 8,000 Branches in $2.5 Million Deal

OTTAWA, ONTARIO, February 21, 2012 –– March Networks® (TSX: MN), a global provider of intelligent IP video solutions, today announced more than $2.5 million in orders from a top ten global financial institution for new video recording systems. The financial institution is deploying the hybrid network video recorders (NVRs) to outfit new retail banking branches, as well as existing branches as part of a planned upgrade program. In addition, it plans to use the company’s integrated Searchlight software applications in a number of locations to more aggressively reduce losses from ATM skimming, cash harvesting and other banking crime.

These latest orders will bring the bank’s total March Networks video surveillance installation to approximately 8,000 locations once the rollout is complete in August 2012. The customer continues to standardize on the financial solution because of its centralized video management capability, which enables authorized staff to access video and conduct investigations remotely at a much faster pace. The solution also provides the demonstrated reliability, scalability, and advanced health monitoring and maintenance needed to ensure optimum system performance across the extensive surveillance network.

“Our financial solutions help banks maintain a competitive advantage by enhancing customer asset protection and increasing operational efficiency,” said Peter Strom, President and CEO, March Networks. “We are pleased to announce new business with one of the world’s largest financial institutions and look forward to showcasing the significant fraud fighting capabilities of our Searchlight portfolio.”

March Networks Searchlight applications provide financial institutions with critical business intelligence that makes it faster and easier to detect and reduce losses from fraud and other crimes. The portfolio includes Financial Transaction Investigation software, which synchronizes ATM and teller transaction records with high-quality video to streamline case management and investigator performance. It also includes powerful Skimming Detection, Image Tracker and License Plate Tracker applications that enable banks to proactively detect fraudulent activity at ATMs and gather strong case evidence through centralized searches that correlate video, transaction information, facial images and license plate data.

More than 450 banks and credit unions worldwide currently use March Networks’ financial solutions to improve security, fraud investigation and operations. The company is also ranked the #1 provider of banking video surveillance systems in the Americas by IMS Research.

Florida School District Turns to March Networks for Advanced Video Surveillance and Emergency Response

OTTAWA, ONTARIO, February 7, 2012 –– March Networks® (TSX: MN), a global provider of intelligent IP video solutions, today announced that Escambia County School District – which oversees 60 schools serving more than 40,000 students in Pensacola, Florida – has standardized on the company’s video surveillance system to enhance school safety. Equipped with March Networks Command video management software and 4000 C Series hybrid NVRs, the school district now has an easy-to-use, IP-based surveillance solution that allows it to resolve incidents quickly and better respond to potential threats.

“At the moment, we have a mixture of March Networks hybrid recorders in some schools and the server-based Command software in others,” said Brian Johnson, a network systems analyst with the school district. “The solution is ideal, because it allows us to continue using analog cameras where they are already installed, and eventually transition all of our schools to IP surveillance as our budget permits.”

The fact that the Command software is compatible with both Windows and Macintosh operating systems was another key consideration for the school district, as most of its administrators use Macintosh computers. In addition, Command’s web-based client interface eliminates the need to install and maintain new software on each individual system, saving the school district both time and resources. The web-based software also makes it easier for Escambia to open the surveillance system to law enforcement and other first responders if needed – providing them with a real-time view into a school in an emergency situation.

“Security is a top priority for school communities worldwide, with video surveillance playing an increasingly important role,” said Net Payne, Chief Marketing Officer, March Networks. “Our solutions offer the ease-of-use and management capabilities needed to efficiently oversee large school districts and campus environments, as well as the proven reliability educators, students and their families demand.”

Australia’s Largest Retailer Enhances Surveillance Solution Across 1,300 Sites with March Networks Software

OTTAWA, ONTARIO, January 31, 2012 –– March Networks® (TSX: MN), a global provider of intelligent IP video solutions, today announced that Woolworths Limited – an Australian company with extensive retail interests throughout Australia and New Zealand – is deploying new Visual Intelligence software across thousands of existing March Networks video recording systems in a phased upgrade program. The software delivers enhanced live monitoring and searching capabilities that make it even easier for the retailer to centrally manage surveillance video used for security and loss prevention in more than 1,300 remote locations.

“We selected March Networks after evaluating multiple competitive units in our IT labs, and continue to expand with the solution,” said Darin Crofts, Woolworths’ Loss Prevention Manager responsible for special projects. “The software and systems are very easy to use and extremely reliable. They provide the high-quality video evidence and case management tools we need to identify and act on suspicious behavior quickly. As a result, we have seen clear returns through reduced shrinkage and fewer liability claims.”

The solution’s remote video access capability is essential for Woolworths’ Loss Prevention and Health, Safety and Environment staff, who would otherwise have to drive as many as 12 hours one way to pull video evidence manually from a store location. In addition, the software incorporates advanced video compression technology and bandwidth limiting features that make it possible to access video over the network without impacting core business operations – even from rural store locations with a maximum bandwidth capacity of just 64 kb/s.

“We are proud to continue our partnership with Woolworths,” said Net Payne, Chief Marketing Officer, March Networks, “and remain focused on evolving our retail solutions to help customers save time, improve operations and extract valuable business intelligence from the video surveillance network they are already using to protect their customers and assets. Our solutions provide retailers with the tools they need to significantly reduce losses from theft and fraud, while delivering the reliability and ease-of-use that sets them apart in the industry.”

The complete March Networks retail solution also includes Retail Transaction Investigation (RTI) software to support advanced loss prevention efforts. The RTI software combines critical visual evidence with transaction data from point-of-sale systems, enabling investigators to swiftly identify and review suspicious transactions, strengthen case evidence and improve recoveries.

March Networks and the Ottawa Senators Partner on State-of-the-Art Stadium Security System

OTTAWA, ONTARIO, January 24, 2012 –– March Networks® (TSX: MN), a global provider of intelligent IP video solutions, announced today that it has partnered with the Ottawa Senators to provide its next-generation video surveillance platform to enhance security and operations at Scotiabank Place – a world-class sports and entertainment facility and home to the National Hockey League (NHL) team. This week, the Ottawa Senators and Scotiabank Place will play host to the NHL All-Star Game.

The property management company is deploying the March Networks Command video management software (VMS) and megapixel IP cameras to replace an older surveillance system throughout the facility, which encompasses a 19,153-capacity multi-purpose arena, a fitness complex, multiple restaurants and other businesses. The solution delivers remote access to high-definition video, enabling Scotiabank Place staff to monitor activity in real-time and review recorded video quickly when needed – all from a central operations center.

“The March Networks system is a significant improvement to our security operations,” said Cyril Leeder, Ottawa Senators President. “The quality of the video and the intuitive software allows our staff to find specific video clips in minutes, rather than hours. Not only will it play a critical role in ensuring the safety of our players, performers and hundreds of thousands of fans each year, it will provide Scotiabank Place with additional capabilities that enhance its operations and contribute to its competitive success in the entertainment marketplace.”

The partnership extends to future product enhancements and innovations from March Networks, with Scotiabank Place serving as a showcase for next-generation stadium security technologies.

“Stadium security is a multi-billion dollar business worldwide and represents one of the fastest growing segments for video surveillance,” said Peter Strom, President and CEO, March Networks. “We are proud to feature our latest technologies in such a prominent commercial venue, and look forward to working with the Ottawa Senators to develop new ideas and exciting technologies to address this rapidly growing segment of the industry.”

In addition to indoor surveillance, Scotiabank Place will use the solution for key outdoor applications. March Networks pan-tilt-zoom IP cameras mounted on the facility’s roof will be used to monitor parking lots and surrounding walkways. They will also help City of Ottawa transportation staff monitor traffic flow and more accurately adjust traffic signals to ease congestion before and after events.

The March Networks Command software, which incorporates a secure web-based browser, makes it easy for a variety of authorized users to leverage the system for security and operational purposes. The software scales seamlessly to support thousands of cameras, making it ideal for the Senators, who plan to extend the surveillance solution to a second recreational facility a few kilometers away later this year.
